hello everyone, this is my first blog post.
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Julia Schippers, I am 14 years old and I live in Westleigh. The coming year I am going on an exchange to Japan, the city I will go to is Sapporo which is on the island of Hokkaido. Hokkaido is in the north of Japan and gets very cold in winter. Whilst it is summer over here and currently over 40 degrees, in Sapporo winter temperatures can be as low as -20.
I have already been in contact with my first host family and they seem very welcoming and nice and I’m looking forward to meeting them.
I am super excited to start my exchange and I really would like to thank all people involved in Rotary for providing me with this amazing opportunity. I am looking forward to conquering new things in japan!
Watch out Japan… here I come!
